OCEANSIDE, CA – October is shaping up to be an eventful month in Oceanside. Here are some of the favorite events coming up this month.

Saturday October 2: Taste of the ocean
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Oceanside’s first downtown dining experience. Sample Oceanside’s exciting food and brewing scene, one bite and one sip at a time. Taste Saturday only tickets are SOLD OUT. The VIP Friday Night Party on October 1 features a special guest chef, light fare with refreshments, and live entertainment. Limited VIP tickets are available for $ 125 and include a combo ticket for the Saturday event.

Saturday October 2: Feast of St. Francis Blessing of the animals
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Mission San Luis Rey
The Franciscan friars and the staff of Mission San Luis Rey will celebrate the feast of Saint Francis with the annual Blessing of the Animals. A day of fun, food, and fabulous furry friends, including a pet costume contest, OPD dog show, and pumpkin painting booth. Help our community by bringing in non-perishable food items or toiletries to donate to the ward ministry of social affairs and pet food to donate to the Humane Society. Free event. Friday October 8: Fundraising for KOCT’s 40th anniversary

KOCT Television celebrates a 40-year legacy on the KOCT Television soundstage in Oceanside, California. The historic evening will include shows, silent auctions, raffles, dancing, studio tours and friendship. The price per person is $ 40 for 40 years. You can not do that ? Saturday October 9: Filipino Cultural Festival

The annual cultural celebration of the Philippines is back! The celebration will provide attendees with a day filled with Filipino dance and music, colorful costumes, special shows, and delicious Filipino and international cuisine. In addition, there will be crafts and activities for children in the courtyard of the community rooms of the Civic Center library. Entrance to the event is FREE and open to the public. The Philippine American Cultural Organization (FACO) and the Oceanside Public Library will host the 20th Annual Cultural Celebration of the Philippines. Thursday October 14: Oceanside Senior Expo

The Oceanside Senior Expo, Healthy Lifestyles and Active Aging. Provide services and information to older people and families. Sunday October 24: Dia de los Muertos Festival

The 20th annual Dia de los Muertos Festival returns to its origins in downtown Oceanside, at the corner of Pier View Way and South Tremont Streets.

Saturday October 24: IRONMAN 70.3

Athletes from around the world come to Oceanside for the IRONMAN 70.3. The course consists of the following: 1.2 mile swimming in the Pacific Ocean, 56 miles of cycling loop through Camp Pendleton and 13.1 miles of running along the coastal community of Oceanside. Everyone is invited to cheer on the athletes as they complete this intense journey. No cost
