LARCHWOOD, Iowa – State regulators have given the green light for an $ 8 million renovation of Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resorts.

The first of two phases of the project will begin in September, with the casino floor receiving new slots basics, a mat and chairs, and an updated poker room. VIP offices and restrooms will also be updated.

The initial phase, which is expected to cost $ 2 million, is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving.

Work on phase two, which will include renovating restaurants and storefront spaces, is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022.

Casino officials said the construction would not interfere with gambling, dining or resort activities.

“We work hard to provide an exceptional entertainment experience for our customers,” Sharon Haselhoff, General Manager of Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort. “These projects are consistent with our corporate philosophy of reinvesting in our properties, providing world-class facilities, amenities, exceptional cuisine and excellent customer service for all of our clients.”

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved the renovations at its monthly meeting on Thursday. This is the second major construction of the rural casino in the department of Lyon in less than two years.

In 2019, the casino embarked on a $ 10 million project that included new sports betting, additional hotel rooms, and expansion of its recreational vehicle fleet.
