August 7

10 a.m. to noon – Milroy Community Pantry at Milroy Elementary School. This is a drive-thru event open to anyone who needs it.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – First Christian Church is hosting an event at the Decatur County Fairgrounds with service, free lunch and activities for families. Open to anyone interested. Call the church at (812) 663-8488 for more information.

1 p.m. and 4 p.m. – The Little Sprouts, for Kindergarten – Grade 2, will meet and make a craft with root vegetables at the Batesville Memorial Public Library. Register at ebatesville.com/events.

1:00 p.m. – Knit Together at the Batesville Memorial Public Library. Are you interested in knitting or learning to knit? Bring your current project to work or bring your own yarn and needles to get you started.

7:00 p.m. – Greensburg Community School Board Budget Workshop and Board Meeting at 1312 W. Westridge Parkway. Open to the public.

1 p.m. – The Batesville Memorial Thursday Crafternoon Public Library for adults will be making art on the lawn from glassware. Register at ebatesville.com/events to create your own lawn art.

6:30 p.m. – The Batesville Memorial Public Library Magic Club meets on the second Thursday of each month.

7:00 p.m. – Lois Chapter # 147 OES meets at Masonic Hall on E. Central Ave., Greensburg. There will be refreshments in the dining room at 6:15 pm All members are requested to attend.

10 a.m. – Decatur County Courthouse Lawn Prayer Walk to LifeLine Wesleyan Church. Open to anyone interested.

10 a.m. – The Greensburg Country Club will host the annual Lykins Charity Golf Outing. With 180 participants, the tournament will last at least six hours. The course will be closed most of the day, but will open after all play is over with the golf exit.

Noon: Back to School Bash picnic for young people MOVE South East at Greensburg City Park, 1650 W. Park Road. Open to young adults residing in Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties. Pre-registration required. 6:00 PM – After Hours Concert with Matthew Ball “The Boogie Woogie Kid” featuring New Orleans and Swing-era tunes from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. This program is sponsored by BAAC, Friends of the Batesville Memorial Library and Public Library. Bring your own chairs and join us Under the Umbrella Sky for this music event.

7 p.m. – Free concert at Riverside Park Amphitheater in Rushville with Dirty Deeds, an AC / DC tribute band. Free parking, a shuttle service from nearby parking lots and on-site vendors are also offered.
